The EXO brings precise laser shaft alignment to hazardous areas.

Where an explosive atmosphere would rule out an ordinary tool, the EXO is built to do the work safely, across a broad range of plant equipment.

Key features

Precise shaft alignment in explosive atmospheres, where an ordinary tool simply cannot go.

Backed by ALPS ISO 18436 certified analysts

Common questions

Can the EXO be used in an explosive atmosphere?

Yes, that is what it is built for. Where a standard alignment tool is not permitted inside a classified area, the EXO lets the work go ahead without shutting down the surrounding process or falling back on a workaround that compromises the alignment itself.

What equipment does it cover?

Fans, pumps, gearboxes, agitators, cooling towers, and generators. In practice that is most of what sits inside a classified area in a process plant, so one tool covers the area rather than just part of it.

Why not move the machine out of the hazardous area to align it?

Because an alignment is only valid where the machine actually runs, on its own foundation and its own pipework. Align it somewhere else, put it back, and the numbers you recorded no longer describe the machine. See Mechanical Engineering for how we handle installs and reinstalls.

Does it use the same workflow as the AT range?

Yes. Precision laser measurement, wireless sensors with guided apps, automatic diagnostics, and a documented result, the same as the rest of the Acoem alignment range. A team already using an AT model will recognise the process straight away.

Is the EXO an intrinsically safe tool, or a standard one with an accessory?

It is a purpose built intrinsically safe system, not a standard unit with something bolted on. That distinction matters when someone asks to see the paperwork before a tool goes through the gate into a classified area, and it is the reason a standard AT unit is not a substitute.

Does ALPS MSI supply and support the EXO in the Philippines?

Yes. ALPS MSI supplies the Acoem alignment range here, trains your team, and supports it after the sale, backed by ISO 18436 certified analysts. Ask for a demo and we will run it on your own equipment.
