What is the AMT ArPlug for?
It is the connection accessory for online testing with the AMT Pro. It gives you a fast, repeatable way to connect to transformers and voltage points so a test can be taken without rebuilding the connection each time.
Do we have to shut the motor down to use it?
No. The ArPlug connects while the motor is running, which is the point of it. Testing under real load also gives a more useful picture than testing an idle machine.
How long does it take to get connected?
It is ready to test in about ten seconds. On a plant round where you are covering a long asset list, that difference across dozens of machines is the difference between finishing the round and not.
What does the smart contact design actually prevent?
It prevents open circuits during testing. That is the risk you carry every time someone connects test equipment to a live circuit by hand, and the contact design takes it out of the procedure rather than relying on the technician getting the sequence right every time.
Is the ArPlug a standalone instrument?
No. It is an accessory that works with the AMT Pro. The AMT Pro does the measurement and the diagnosis, and the ArPlug is how it gets connected safely to a running machine.
